This is the glory of the prairie and meadow. A butterfly magnet and the monarchs mainstay food and host plant. This plant is easy to grow and is best direct-seeded because it resents transplanting. But it is long-lived and tough and looks lovely planted with Red Mexican Hat, Prairie Coneflower, Black-eyed Susan, Kansas Gayfeather. Don't neglect this for drought-tolerance, and bright color in the garden or meadow.
