This is a stand-out prairie plant with so many uses in the meadow or perennial garden you can't count them. It is only tolerant of full sun so don't plant near the trees. Shorter than Kansas Gayfeather, will tolerate wetter soils also. Useful and lovely for cutting, attracting butterflies and birds, or just as an accent plant for coneflowers, butterfly weed, flax, phlox, salvias, and so many prairie plants we've grown in the Ozarks and the in the Plains.
