This lovely herb is common in midsummer in meadows and ditches and it is such a long-lived lovely perennial. A butterfly and moth magnet and fragrantly pungent mint-flavored leaves make this native plant a must for the natural garden. Use as a centerpiece in the early summer garden and plant with Liatris and Asclepias and Centaurea. Native east of the Rocky Mountains and is drought tolerant, a good tough native for a dry to average soil.
